Hooray

I got my Kindle.  Saying I'm in love is an understatement.

It's been a pretty lovely week, consisting of:

  • My favorite day of the year.
  • Family I love.
  • Friends I love.
  • Great food, and drinks.
  • LOTS of football.
  • Giving and receiving with amazing people.
  • Getting hooked on new books.
  • Pretty party make-up.
  • Baking with my Momma.
  • Drinks with friends and my little brother.  (weird.)
  • Working on my new website.
  • And HOPEFULLY, a Fantasy Football Championship.  (i'll know in about 30 minutes.)
I'm such a lucky girl.

ALSO, if you're friends with me on Facebook, you probably see that I talk about this all the time, but it's REAL!

Seriously, I love it, and wish I knew about it before.  I've already gotten $25 in Amazon gift cards, just for using it as a search engine, and doing a couple extra things here and there.  It's AWESOME!

Anyway, who can believe this year is almost over?  What are your New Years resolutions?

Christmas

Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year.  I almost feel it snuck up on me this year, which is a bummer.  But the time with family and friends, games, coffee dates over Christmas carols...  It's all so beautiful.

So I just want to wish you a Merry Christmas, and to take a time out to remember what this season is all about.

ALSO, please check out the reason I've been MIA here, and tell your friends.  :)

Parachute

I was trying on a pair of sky high Steve Madden pumps yesterday, and sent a picture to my dear friend Kelly.  Our texting conversation went as follows...

Kelly: Awesome!  And shoes are never too tall!

Me: If I fall off them, they might be.  It's a long way to the ground.

Kelly: Pack a parachute.

Reason #587 why I love her.

Words of Wisdom

This is my friend Andrea:

Andrea and I met in college, and she's ridiculously gorgeous.

Anyway, I'm introducing you to her because this is my nifty way of stealing her most recent post, because I really loved it.  Go check it out here.

I'll leave you with this though, I thought it was really lovely.

"When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin'."
I'm whispering "I was lost,
Now I'm found and forgiven."

...When I say... "I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
And need His strength to carry on.

When I say. "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
But, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
Who received God's good grace, somehow."

Okay I lied...

Though I wouldn't really put these things on my wish list, they're fun to look at.  I mean, I wouldn't be MAD if they showed up at my door, just saying...

1. Steve Madden Sparklers

I mean, you could wear a trash bag with these babies and no one would even notice.

2. Sequin Mini's

I wouldn't spend this much on a skirt, but I like it anyway.  Anything sparkly wins me over.  Seriously, if I creeper man presented me with sequins and glitter all the time, I'd marry him.

3. Tights

Once October hits, my legs will not see the sun for as long as I can possibly manage.  I love tights, I'll wear them even if it's 80 degrees in November.  (Southern California Fall for you.)  American Apparel has tons of fun colors too.

Colors and sparkles, a way to a girl's heart.

Wish List

I often get reprimanded for not telling my family what I want for Christmas.  I tend to just be happy enough with the season that I don't really think about it, but this year,  I have been.  ;)

1. Kindle

And that's it...  I'm easy to please.  I also wish I could shop for more people, because I love doing it, but working 11 hours a week doesn't really let me do that.  I've unfortunately had to really cut the list of people I can shop for this year, but I love them so much, and I know they know that.

I am obsessed with this season, I love it, it's my absolute favorite.  EVERYTHING is more beautiful this time of year, the lights, the cheer, love love love.

I can't wait for random drives to look at lights, meeting for coffee while listening to Christmas music, baking treats with friends and family...  AND, most importantly, I love what it all stands for.  I'm so incredibly blessed.

Hooray for CHRISTmas.
